Eric practices his passion near Caen, in the Calvados department (14).
He studied in Caen and it was during his time at college, at the age of 15, that he met Jack Mutel. The latter was his drawing teacher but also a Norman painter known for his works representing fishing scenes. Eric loved to draw, so his teacher encouraged him to explore museums and discover the great masters of painting. At the same time, Eric immersed himself in reading books on the art of painting and was particularly interested in the technique of pastel, watercolor and oil.
During the years 1990-1991, Eric joined the École du Louvre in Paris. This opportunity allowed him to deepen his knowledge of art history and to regularly visit one of the most beautiful museums in the world. There, he devoted many hours to observing paintings from different periods and discussing the techniques used with copyist painters.
It was in 2022 that Eric decided to become a professional painter, with a predilection for the pastel technique. For him, pastel is a noble and infinitely rich material, which he likes to share with his fellow artists.
Eric is particularly passionate about the representation of animals. He seeks to capture their attitudes, their looks, as well as the subtle nuances of their colors. Through his paintings, he wishes to highlight this beauty and make Man aware of its fragility as well as the need to preserve it.
